Every week our Trade Ticker logs real trades from public dynasty leagues, and every Monday-ish I'm going to tell you what they said. This week they said plenty: 1,370 trades crossed the wire in the last seven days, out of 134,221 in our warehouse, and 72 percent of them included at least one draft pick.
Here's what the market actually did, as opposed to what people say they'd do.
The most traded player in dynasty is a second-year receiver
Jayden Higgins changed teams 36 times this week, more than any player in our data. The Houston receiver carries a model value of 1,237 on our superflex board, which is to say the market can't agree on him, so he keeps moving. That's what heavy volume usually means: not consensus, argument.
The rest of the most-traded list is almost all receivers. Jaylen Waddle went 29 times. Terrance Ferguson, the Rams tight end, moved 27 times as the one non-receiver near the top. Then Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr., both of Jacksonville, at 23 each, with DJ Moore, Wan'Dale Robinson and Jordyn Tyson right behind. Tyson is the name to note there: at 2,176 he's the most valuable player on the most-traded list, 56th overall on our board, and the market is still churning him at volume. Somebody's wrong about him, and this season decides who.
Somebody paid five assets for Ashton Jeanty on cut day
The trade of the week landed August 25. One side sent Nicholas Singleton, Jaylen Waddle, and three 2027 picks, a first, a second and a third, worth 2,808 combined on our model. The other side sent back Ashton Jeanty and Kyle Williams, worth 2,234.
That's a 574-point overpay for the right to own Jeanty while he sits on the injury report as questionable. Our ADP has Jeanty going 15th overall in redraft, so this is what conviction looks like: while everyone else waits on a designation with no name attached, one manager shipped five assets and decided the discount window was this week. If Jeanty plays week 1, they stole him. If the questionable tag becomes something worse, they bought the dip on the way down.
The market noticed Cyrus Allen before the depth chart did
Twenty trades this week involved Cyrus Allen, the Chiefs' fifth-round rookie receiver, and his model value now sits at 1,559, which is 122nd on our board, ahead of established names like Josh Jacobs at 1,510 and DJ Moore at 1,092. A day-three rookie who hasn't played a snap outranking a back who scored 12 touchdowns last season tells you exactly what dynasty managers are buying right now: the chance that Patrick Mahomes makes somebody's career, and a 23-year-old with draft capital nobody fought over. What to watch next week
Cut-day fallout works through the market for a few days as dead roster spots get flipped for picks, and then week 1 does what it always does: the first real games repricing everything August believed. The most-traded list above is a list of open arguments. Some of them settle a week from Thursday.
