How to actually use this page
This page is the reference layer of the hockey section: who a player is, which position he is listed at, where he plays, how long he has been in the league, and whether he is currently in any shape to help you. Search by name, narrow by club, or tap a position chip to see only the centres, the wingers, the defencemen or the goalies. Forwards and Skaters are the two groups a lineup card cares about, so they get chips of their own. Every row opens the player page with last season by category, the per-game rates and the projection.
Use it as a fast sanity check before you spend a waiver claim or answer a trade offer: a name in a group chat is only a name until you know the club, the position and the status behind it.

Role changes last, hat tricks do not
Group chats chase points. A fourth-liner who scored twice in a blowout gets talked about even when nothing about his ice time changed, while a winger quietly moved onto the first power-play unit gets no mention until the points arrive. When a name comes up, open his page and look at the ice time and the power-play share on it: a promotion is durable, a stat line is loud and often temporary. The same scepticism works in reverse. Players get cut league-wide in a two-game week, and some of those cuts are your buying opportunity.
Position eligibility is the platform's, not the league's
The position on a row is the one the NHL lists. Yahoo splits centre, left wing and right wing and adds eligibility during the season as a player logs games at a second spot; ESPN pools all three as forwards. A winger shown here as LW may well be C/LW in your league by December, so treat the chip as a starting point and check your own platform before a trade that hinges on a seat.
What the status column means
Active means he is on the roster and eligible to play, nothing more. IR and LTIR mean he is out for a stretch; most platforms let you stash him in a dedicated slot. A blank club with any status means the player is unsigned. The injury report carries the designations themselves, refreshed through the day.
