Ground rules

Editorial standards

MustDraft has two sides: the tools, which run on data, and the Hot Reads, which are the articles. Here's what you can expect from both.

Facts come from the source

Every fact in a Hot Read is checked before it publishes. Injuries and signings are checked against the official reports, numbers against the box scores, and news against the reporter who actually broke it. If a claim can't be traced back to a reliable original source, it doesn't go in. Another site repeating the same story doesn't count as confirmation.

Quotes and stats are never made up. If a quote can't be found at its original source, it isn't used.

The take is ours

Most Hot Reads make an argument: start this player, stop trusting that one, here's what the numbers say. That's opinion, and it reads as opinion, never dressed up as fact. When a piece talks about what the projections or the trade market expect, it shows you their numbers instead of guessing at their reasoning. Every piece carries a byline and the date it went up.

Where the tool numbers come from

The rankings, projections and values on the tools come from several independent forecasters and public data. The methodology page explains how they're combined, how often the data refreshes, and how our own projections have held up against past seasons, misses included. When the sources disagree, the tools show you the disagreement. When a number isn't solid enough to stand behind, the tool says so instead of showing a guess.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it gets fixed, or taken down if it can't be. That goes for a stat on a tool page as much as a sentence in a Hot Read. Email support@mustdraft.com with the page and what's wrong. The corrections policy on the About page has more.

Advertising stays separate

Nobody pays for coverage here. No player, team or company can buy a ranking, a value or a mention. Any ads on the site are served by Google, sit in clearly labelled spaces and have no say in what gets written. MustDraft doesn't run sportsbook or betting ads, has no betting affiliate links, and never publishes sponsored posts dressed up as articles.
