ABOUT THIS PAGE

One Tab for the Whole League

Headlines are sorted newest first and banded by day. Choose an outlet above to narrow the feed, or leave it on All to read the league in one pass. Open a headline for the full article and its reporting context. A rest night, a two-way call-up, a starter moved to the bench and a minutes restriction all land here first; the fantasy reading of each is yours to make, and the page does not rank stories by what they might mean for your roster.

Every headline is credited and linked to the outlet that reported it. Nothing here is rewritten. A row earns a face only when the shared Player News rule finds a player's full name in the headline and matches it against the basketball directory; a surname alone never qualifies, because too many players share one, and a story that matched nobody shows no avatar rather than a guess.

Why a basketball wire reads differently

Fantasy basketball is a daily game. Lineups lock every night a club plays, most rosters play three or four times a week, and the difference between a good week and a lost one is often a single injury report that landed at four in the afternoon. That is why this page refreshes every half hour and why the timestamp beside each row matters more than it does on a weekly sport. A headline from this morning about a player being questionable is a lineup decision; the same headline from Tuesday is history. Read the time before you read the story.

The stories that move a fantasy roster are rarely the ones that lead a sports section. A coach saying a rookie will start the second half of a back-to-back, a veteran being held out of the front end of one, a trade that hands a bench player twenty-eight minutes a night: none of these makes a national headline, and all of them change who you should be starting tonight. The outlet chips above exist so you can go straight to the beat-driven feeds when the front page is full of award chatter.

Which outlets are on the wire

Nine feeds are read every thirty minutes: ESPN, Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, The Guardian, SB Nation, Hoops Rumors, Yardbarker, Sportsnet and RealGM. Each was checked before it was added, and each gets an equal share of the page before any outlet's surplus is used, so one high-volume feed cannot crowd the others out. RealGM and Hoops Rumors are transaction-first and carry the two-way signings, waiver claims and G League moves that the bigger outlets skip; Sportsnet is the Canadian read and the closest beat coverage of the Raptors; the national outlets carry the injury designations and the league-office stories.

A source is a source, never a label. The outlet's name sits under each headline because the reporting is theirs, and the link goes to their page. This site does not reproduce article bodies and does not rank one outlet above another.

What is kept off the page

An NBA wire is not a basketball wire. College basketball, the WNBA, EuroLeague and the international game are all basketball and all somebody's passion, but none of them puts a player on your fantasy roster, so a story about them is dropped unless the headline names the NBA beside it. A draft prospect story that reads through the league stays; a Champions Classic result goes. The G League stays, because it is the league's own farm system and an assignment or a two-way call-up is a roster fact you act on. Other sports are dropped on a positive signal: a baseball story that leaked into a basketball feed, a football column filed under the wrong tag. Silence is never evidence, so a headline the filter cannot place stays on the page.

Check the timestamp

The Updated stamp shows when the displayed feed was built. Headlines carry their own publication times, banded by your own calendar day, so a story published late tonight in one time zone is still under Today for you. The page checks for updates every ten minutes; a failed refresh leaves the previous batch on screen rather than a blank page.

Check the reporting, then act

Injury news, a rest designation and a rotation change can each call for a different decision, and the same headline from a beat reporter and from an aggregator is not the same report. Read the original source and check whether it is confirmed before you change a lineup or burn one of your weekly adds. For tonight's fill-in, check the streamers board, which reads the same injury feed and the games left this week; for a roster move that has to hold up all week, check the games per week and the back-to-backs before you commit the add. If a trade rumour breaks real, see what the numbers say on the category board before your league-mates do.
